| Description: | The Director of ChaCha.com owns the roadmap and management of ChaCha.com a website that is in the top 75 in the U.S. and has over 15M monthly uniques. This position manages a small group of technical and marketing resources directly and drives initiatives focused on continuing to enhance and grow the ChaCha.com revenue stream at ChaCha. Reporting to the President of ChaCha, the subject Director is responsible for defining new external relationships; inventing new and / or applying existing SEO techniques, both internal and external; as well as establishing new service capabilities, all geared to driving additional ChaCha revenue and improving both the customer and advertiser experience on ChaCha.com. The Director will have both direct resources as well as non-direct support capabilities such as data reporting / analysis; sales; and network management people to assist in achieving the objectives.
The Director must be a skilled manager of both people and project activities in an environment that is fast-paced and technically challenging and significant experience in developing and managing other top tier web properties.

| Duties: | 1. Develop an ongoing strategic plan for ChaCha.com that address the company’s strategic vision for customers and advertisers. This plan should address customer and revenue acquisition, customer loyalty programs, interfaces with other chacha products and social networks, partners, etc.
2. Work directly with the VP of Marketing to ensure that the Corporate objectives for the Website are met as well as develop processes to meet the ongoing needs of all Website stakeholders.
3. Define new initiatives and enhancements to existing capabilities that create improved revenue capture going forward.
4. Create detailed implementation plans that spell out clearly the various roles and requirements inherent in bringing online the aspects in number 1 above.
5. Establish work plans that promote high quality success on changes introduced on external and internal SEO; advertising revenue through ad networks and/or direct sales; and / or Website attributes.
6. “Own” the relationships with online ad networks (including Google; Infospace; etc.) in order to achieve optimum available monetization.
7. Develop a viable online platform for the National and Local Sales Teams to sell highly monetizing ads, listings, and coupons directly and via self serve capabilities
8. Focus and manage direct reporting resources so that both a positive impact and long-term results are achieved on each assigned task.
General Accountabilities:
1. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director will participate in the evaluation and execution of Company wide strategies and objectives and initiatives. Active contribution is expected.
2. Annually and quarterly, will establish a set of definitive financial and non-financial objectives for the chacha.com project group
3. The Director of ChaCha.com will develop the rational basis for forward revenue forecasts and present the developed numbers to management for review and approval.
4. Will be responsible for expense level annual, and periodically updated, budgeting for the chacha.com function.
5. A set of specific objectives will be established for each direct report and measurement against those objectives will be documented no less frequently than quarterly.
6. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director will be expected to participate in various Company sponsored events both during and periodically outside of normal working hours. |
| Qualifications: | The Director will have a minimum of five years experience in the SEO domain, with an engineering background preferred. Bachelor’s degree required, MA desirable. We are looking for an experienced manager that has successfully supervised groups of 4 to 10 people over a period of a minimum of five years. The chosen individual will possess strong skills in both project management disciplines as well as the organizing / tracking of individual work plans.
The Director should be able to highlight contractual agreements spearheaded in past assignments and that reflect significant financial and / or performance implications on the involved parties. Preferably, the Director will have experience with local/city information and/or yellowpages implementations.
Should have managed teams or worked with various agile development methodologies (agile, XP, lean) and have experience with a release cycle that includes multiple releases per week. S/he should be familiar with Java web frameworks such as Struts, Groovy/Grails, or Spring as well as web service implementations (REST, XML-RPC, SOAP). S/he will be well-versed and comfortable as relates to Google’s offerings (Adsense; Analytics; Links; etc.). Familiarity with DART ad tracking and Comscore and previous experience in working with those companies is a plus. The individual will be solidly grounded as relates to techniques to dramatically improve:
Site architecture to optimize SEO;
indexing by top search engines;
optimizing revenue between ad networks and direct ads;
external linkbacks;
widgets;
social media including Facebook and twitter;
site link exchanges;
increasing CTR and RPC;
increasing CPM and/or CPC revenue;
keyword selection;and other necessary means of enriching the offerings.
